Home security is a basic component of crime prevention. When residents are on vacation, their homes can become a target for burglars. Although there is no guarantee against break-ins, the Annapolis Royal Police Service ARPS) offers free home security checks to residents to reduce their chances of victimization.
Police officers will conduct a perimeter check of your home while you are on vacation to ensure there are no signs of attempted or successful forced entry into your home. To request a free vacation home security check please complete the Vacation Home Security Program form and submit it to the ARPS (policeservice@annapolisroyal.com) seven (7) days before travel. ARPS will acknolwedge receipt within three (3) working days of receiving the form.
The Vacation Home Security Program does not replace personal home security. Homeowners are responsible for ensuring that their home is safe and securer before leavining, and that all insurance requirement needs are met during any absences. By submitting the application you accept that the ARPS and Town of Annapolis Royal do not assume any liability for damage or loss of property during the specified dates.
